Private Claude Levasseur

Born on 19 August 1893 in Canada - son of Mrs. Elizabeth Levasseur, Ottawa, Ontario - brother of Private Jack Levasseur, 38th Battalion, CEF - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as moving picture operator; single; no current military service; previously served with No. 4 PASE[?] (four years); Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 3 inches; chest of 34.5 inches fully expanded; swarthy complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 25 January 1915 (number 410064) - taken on the strength of the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915 - accidentally wounded on 6 September 1916 - transferred to the 8th Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops, CEF, as a Sapper on 17 April [1917?].
