Joined the Signal Training Depot, Canadian Engineers, CEF, in Fort William, Ontario, on 5 June 1917 (number 2265631) on 5 June 1917 - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 September 1918 - transferred to the 78th Battalion, CEF, on 30 September 1918.
