Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Gordon Stewart

Born on 9 February 1880 in Ottawa, Ontario - husband of Elbeilta[?] J. Stewart, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1914: trade as contractor; married; currently a member of the 43rd Regiment Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles; previously served with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, in South Africa (as a lieutenant).

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, as its first commanding officer - transferred as the brigade major of the 4th Infantry Brigade.

The wife of Robert Gordon Stewart was(Birdie) Elbertha Jane Sharpe.
I have pictures of Gordon in uniform. He and his three brothers all went to WW l. And they all returned!
