Private Charles Roland Pember

Born on 14 August 1897 in Essex, England - son of Margaret Lillian Pember, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as mother; trade as student; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 7.75 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; hazel eyes; fair hair.

Joined the 204th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 11 April 1916 (number 237489) - taken on the strength of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps, CEF, on 2 September 1917 - transferred to the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 20 July 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - wounded on 28 September 1918 - invalided to England on 30 September 1918.
