Joined the 1st Depot Battalion, 2nd Central Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 21 November 1917 (number 3105713) - taken on the strength of the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 1 or 2 June 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - wounded on 28 September 1918 - invalided to England on 30 September 1918.

Hi Ken. This appears to be my Great Uncle however his name was ALFRED not Albert. He was born here in Queensland and is the brother of my Grandfather Frederick George Montara. Alfred was married to Bessie (nee Simpson) and eventually lived in Philadelphia, PA where his grandsons still live.
