Private James McGuire

Born on 26 October 1892 in North Gower, Ontario - cousin of Thomas J. McBride (or MacBride), Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: trade as plumber; single; no current or previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 5 inches; chest of 33 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 9 February 1916 (number 639350) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 24 May 1917 - killed in action on 29 September 1918 - buried in Bourlon Wood Cemetery (grave II.C.2), France.
