Private Thomas Liddell

Born on 26 September 1895 in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England - next of kin listed as Matt. Liddell, Maisonneuve, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as Salada tea packer; single; no current or previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 4.9 inches; chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; grey eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 5 March 1915 (number 410934) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 16 July 1915 - promoted to Acting-Corporal.
