Private Cluny James Lightbody

Born on 26 August 1884 in Edinburgh, Scotland - next of kin listed as Mrs. Alen[?] Lightbody, Edinburgh, Scotland - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as divinity student; single; currently a member of the McGill University Contingent, Canadian Officers' Training Corps; no previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 8.6 inches; chest of 37.1 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 8 March 1915 (number 410948) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 17 July 1915 - wounded on 2 June 1916 - commissioned as a Lieutenant - rejoined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 5 October 1917 - died of his wounds on 1 November 1917 - buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (grave XXI.FF.4), Belgium.
