Born on 16 March 1883 in London, England - husband of Rose Ellen Kensett, New Liskeard, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in New Liskeard, Ontario; trade as bank messenger; married; currently a member of the 97th Regiment; previously served with the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry (twelve years); Church of England; height of 5 feet 8 inches; chest of 38.5 inches fully expanded; medium complexion; grey eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 159th Battalion, CEF, in New Liskeard, Ontario, on 27 December 1915 (number 648466) - taken on the strength of the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 11 May 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 17 September 1918.
