Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 9 March 1916 (number 775958) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - died on 21 August 1917 of wounds received that day - buried in Noeux-les-Mines Communal Cemetery (grave II.K.22), France.

Thank you very very much Ken for posting this information - most of which was new to me.
Thomas was my grand mothers' brother. He moved to Canada from Edinburgh, Scotland and he lived with my newly married grandmother and grand father before he enlisted
Ten weeks after Thomas' death - his brother Alexander (one day before his 19th birthday)died at Burqa, in Palestine.
