Private Oscar Robert Harvey

Born on 29 October 1891 in Lyndhurst, Ontario - son of R.G. Harvey, Lyndhurst, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as student, single, no current or previous military service, Wesleyan, height of 5 feet 10.5 inches, chest of 38 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, blue eyes, black hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 12 April 1915 (number 411122) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 17 July 1915 - transferred to the 1st Tunneling Company, CEF, on 26 July 1916 - transferred to the 2nd Tunneling Company, CEF, on 2 August 1916 - seconded as an Assistant Instructor of Field Works with the Canadian Expeditionary Training Division from 21 March to 18 December 1917 - transferred to the 12th Tunneling Company, CEF, on 5 July 1918 - wounded on 25 or 26 September 1918 - was commissioned as an officer and promoted to the rank of Captain after leaving the 38th Battalion.
