Private Edward Heals

Born on 10 March 1899 in Ottawa, Ontario - nephew of John Akeson, Westboro (Ottawa), Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address in Westboro, Ontario, trade as driver, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 6 inches, chest of 34 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, brown eyes, fair hair.

Joined the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, (via the Draft 5th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards Recruiting Depot) in Ottawa, Ontario, on 3 April 1917 (number 2350304) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 2 or 3 August 1918 - invalided sick to England on 15 January 1919.
