Private Arthur Calligan Hawley

Born on 29 July 1898 in Cardinal, Ontario - son of Herbert Alexander Hawley, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address same as father, trade in railroad, single, no current or previous military service, previously rejected for service in His Majesty's Forces due to being "under age", Methodist, height of 5 feet 7.5 inches, chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, hazel eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the Divisional Ammunition Column in Ottawa, Ontario, on 6 April 1917 (number 2043062) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 17 or 18 August 1918 - wounded on 27 September 1918 - invalided to England on 30 September 1918.
