Private William Francis Hart

Born on 1 June 1876 in Chicago, Illinois - son of Mary Hart, Chicago, Illinois - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Douglas, Manitoba, trade as labourer, single, no current or previous military service, Roman Catholic, height of 5 feet 7 inches, chest of 37 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 97th Battalion, CEF, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 8 December 1915 (number 700183) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 16 or 17 February 1917 - transferred to the Canadian Labour Pool on 26 April 1918 - transferred to the Canadian Forestry Corps on 2 May 1918.
