Private Philip Thomas Godfrey

Born on 16 December 1891 in Torquay, England - son of Thomas and Beatrice Dora Godfrey, Bradninch, Devonshire, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as tanner, single, no current military service, previously served with the 7th Devons Cyclists, Methodist, height of 5 feet 6.5 inches, chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded, blue eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 19 November 1915 (number 775295) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - killed in action on 11 January 1917 - buried in Ecoivres Military Cemetery (grave IV.B.5), France.

Lovely to find this entry when I Googled his name. He was my Father's first Cousin but he was only three when Philip died. Thank you
