Joined the Signal Training Depot, Canadian Engineers, CEF, in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, on 4 June 1916 (number 1018463) - taken on the strength of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 11 April 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 5 or 6 June 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 21 October 1918 - wounded on 30 October 1918 - invalided to England on 5 November 1918.
