Sergeant Joseph Charles Young

Born on 21 December 1872 in England - husband of Martha Young, St. Onge, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as labourer; married; no current military service; previously served with the imperial military (eleven years); Church of England; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; swarthy complexion; blue eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 22 February 1915 (number 410030) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915 - wounded on 4 June 1916.
