Private John Weir

Born on 11 May 1883 in County Antrim, Ireland - husband of Amelia Weir, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife; trade as labourer; married; no current military service; previously served with the 48th Highlanders (six months, private); Church of England; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 41 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; blue eyes; fair hair.

Joined the 208th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 16 May 1916 (number 249609) - taken on the strength of the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 7 April 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - rejoined the 58th Battalion on 9 September 1918.
