Private John Osborne Moore

Born on 8 January 1896 in Russell, Ontario - son of Henrietta Jane Moore, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as telegraph operator; single; no current or previous military service; Baptist; height of 5 feet 4 inches; chest of 35 inches fully expanded; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 59th Battalion, CEF - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 22 June 1915 (number 410820) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - transferred to the Canadian Signal Pool, Canadian Engineers, CEF, as a Sapper on 8 March 1918.
