Private James May

Born on 29 September 1881 in Peteradeon Township, Dumallewyn, Ireland - brother of Finnie May, Montreal, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as sister; trade as railway switchman; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 8.5 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Joined the 130th Battalion, CEF, in Carleton Place, Ontario, on 21 February 1916 (number 787665) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 14 or 15 November 1916 - transferred to the 2nd Tramway Company, Canadian Engineers, CEF, on 23 November 1917 - later promoted to Corporal.
