Private Alfred Edward Masterman

Born on 19 July 1895 in Toronto, Ontario - fiancee of Miss McClelland, Ottawa, Ontario ("no relations") - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address in Ottawa, Ontario; single; Baptist; trade as printer; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 4 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair.

Conscripted into the 2nd Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 17 January 1918 (number 3320155) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 11 June 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 8 September 1918.
