Private John George Henry Heyd

Born on 28 June 1895 in Ethel, Ontario - son of J.G. and Mary Elizabeth Heyd, Mount Forest, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address at the YMCA, St. Thomas, Ontario, trade as drug apprentice, single, no current or previous military service, Presbyterian, height of 5 feet 6.25 inches, chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair.

Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 14 February 1916 (number 189977) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - killed in action on 9 April 1917 - buried in Canadian Cemetery No.2 (grave Sp. Mem. No.14), France.
