Private Reginald Gordon Hamilton

Born on 9 October 1896 in Goderich, Ontario - son of Mrs. G.C. Hill, Goderich, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as student, single, no current military service, previously served with the University of Manitoba COTC (October 1914 to March 1915), Church of England, height of 5 feet 6.8 inches, chest of 34.8 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 6 April 1915 (number 411108) - transferred to the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 17 July 1915 - wounded on 15 April 1916 - wounded on 15 September 1916 - [discharged approximately April 1917] - [returned to Canada] - joined the 95th Saskatchewan Rifles in the militia - joined the 243rd Battalion, CEF, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, as a lieutenant on 26 February 1917 - did not sail overseas with the 243rd Battalion - transferred to District Depot #2 on 17 April 1918.
