Lieutenant Max McCrum Foster

Born on 17 September 1889 in Williamsburg, Michigan - son of Clara L. Foster, Alden, Michigan - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Canora, Saskatchewan, trade as ranching, single, no current military service, previous attended military school (two years), Methodist, height of 5 feet 10 inches, chest of 38.5 inches fully expanded, very fair complexion, brown eyes, dark hair.

Joined the 212th Battalion, CEF, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 20 March 1916 (number 261040) - commissioned as a lieutenant with the 212th Battalion on 29 May 1916 - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 25 April 1917 - wounded on 28 June 1917 - invalided to England on 1 July 1917 - resigned his commission on 10 December 1917 in order to transfer to the American military - transferred to the United States Army on 29 May 1918.
