Lance-Corporal William Evoy

Born on 28 December 1893 in Almonte, Ontario - son of Albert and Annie Evoy, Almonte, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Renfrew, Ontario, trade as baker, single, no current military service, previously served two years in the 42nd Regiment, Methodist, height of 5 feet 8 inches, chest of 41 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair.

Joined No. 2 Overseas Army Service Corps Training Depot, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 23 November 1916 (number 513330) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 5 and 6 July 1917 - killed in action on 30 October 1917 - name inscribed on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial (panel 10-18-26-28), Belgium.
