Joined the 154th Battalion, CEF, in Russell, Ontario, on 27 March 1916 (number 633988) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 24 May 1917 - wounded on 17 August 1917 - invalided to England on 22 August 1917 - later served with the Canadian Army Service Corps.
