Sergeant Algernon Cecil Moran

Born on 1 December 1891 in Isle of Wight, England - next of kin listed as Miss Muriel Moran, Jersey City, New Jersey - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as bank clerk; single; currently a member of the 3rd Victoria Rifles of Canada (four years); no previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 6.3 inches; chest of 34.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 3 March 1915 (number 410928) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 16 July 1915.
