Joined the 180th Battalion, CEF, as an other rank on 8 September 1916 (number 916549) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, as a lieutenant on 27 December 1916 - wounded on 30 June 1917 - died of those wounds on 21 July 1917 - buried in Etaples Military Cemetery (grave XVII.D.25), France.
