Private James Patrick Collins

Born on 21 November 1876 in Ottawa, Ontario - uncle of Miss Bertha Godoin, Ottawa, Ontario - at time of enlistment in 1915: trade as labourer, widower, currently a member of the Governor General's Foot Guards, no previous military service, Roman Catholic, height of 5 feet 7.5 inches, chest of 38 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, grey eyes, black hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 8 May 1915 (number 410056) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - invalided sick to England on 9 November 1916.
