Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 30 March 1916 (number 190158) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - wounded on 26 March 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 16 May 1917 - killed in action on 30 October 1917 - buried in Tyne Cot Cemetery (grave VI.A.13), Belgium.
