Born on 1 June 1897 in Ottawa, Ontario - son of Mrs. Catherine Curzon, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as mother, trade as plumber, single, no current or previous military service, Methodist, height of 5 feet 4.5 inches, chest of 33.5 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair.

Joined the 77th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 7 August 1915 (number 144004) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Bermuda on 6 December 1915 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 7 June 1916 - joined the ??? in Quebec, Quebec, on 7 June 1916 - joined the 235th Battalion, CEF, in Bowmanville, Ontario, on 10 July 1916 (number 1027156) - taken on the strength of the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles, CEF, on 28 February 1918 - wounded on 17 September 1918 - repatriated to Canada on 12 March 1919.
