Joined the 38th Battalion on 25 May or 18 June 1915 (number 410675) - served with the battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 28 June 1917 - rejoined the battalion on 18 August 1917 - struck off the strength of the battalion on 16 June 1919.
Awarded the Military Medal - no citation - unit recommendation dated 17 April 1917: "For gallant conduct in attacking an enemy M.G. post in operation of Apr. 9/17."
