Private Michael Edward Purcell

Born on 4 October 1889 in Preston, Ontario - brother of Miss Mary Purcell, Prescott, Ontario - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address in Prescott, Ontario; single; Roman Catholic; trade as labourer; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 4.5 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; light complexion; brown eyes; brown hair.

Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 14 January 1918 (number 3055968) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 17 or 18 August 1918 - wounded on 29 September 1918 - invalided to England on 3 October 1918.
