Born on 15 December 1896 in Cobden, Ontario - son of Robert J. Peever, Cobden, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Cobden, Ontario; trade as mechanic; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 4.5 inches; chest of 35 inches fully expanded; weight of 139 pounds; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 130th Battalion, CEF, in Renfrew, Ontario, on 8 April 1916 (number 788622) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 14 or 15 November 1916 - wounded on 10 April 1917 - invalided to England on 16 April 1917 - invalided to Canada for further medical treatment.
