Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 25 November 1915 (number 189463) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - wounded on 23 or 26 April 1917 - died of those wounds on 4 May 1917 - buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery (grave IV.B.1), France.
