Lance-Corporal Roy Douglas McOnie

Born on 28 September 1893 in Manchester, England - son of Mrs. Mary McOnie, Halifax, Nova Scotia - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Halifax, Nova Scotia; trade as clerk; single; no current or previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 8.5 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; dark brown eyes; brown hair.

Joined The Royal Canadian Regiment, CEF, on [?] September 1914 (number 9052) - served with The Royal Canadian Regiment during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - [left] - joined the 237th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, under the alias Roy Douglas Warren on 15 August 1916 (number 1033256) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 21 or 22 April 1917 - invalided sick to England on 10 August 1917 - later served with the Canadian Army Service Corps, CEF.
