Born on 25 November 1883 in Torquay, England - husband of Muriel Martin, Ottawa, Ontario - son of Edwin and Eliza Martin, Torquay, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife; trade as cook; married; no current military service; previously served with the EVBDR[?], Torguay, England (seven years); Church of England; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 38.75 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 207th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 15 March 1916 (number 246053) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 11 November 1917 - died on 15 January 1918 of wounds received that day - buried in Sucrerie Cemetery (grave III.B.9), France.
