Private Allen Martin

Born on 12 October 1890 in Paisley, Huron County, Ontario - son of Duncan Martin, Massey, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Piapot, Saskatchewan; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; no religious denomination; height of 5 feet 8 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; grey eyes; black hair.

Joined the 97th Battalion, CEF, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, on 29 April 1916 (number 261295) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 15 or 19 April 1917 - transferred to the 4th Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps, CEF, on 1 May 1918.
