Honorary Captain Harold Irwin Horsey

Born on 21 July 1867 in Kingston, Ontario - husband of Lillian Sammie[?] Horsey, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as clergyman, married, currently a member of the Reserve of the Active Militia, previously served with the 14th Prince of Wales Regiment and the Midland Battalion (Northwest Rebellion of 1885), Congregationalist, height of 5 feet 9 inches, chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, hazel eyes, gray hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, as Battalion Chaplain on 29 June 1915 - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - served as a Lieutenant from 10 August to 8 December 1916 - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - promoted to Honorary Captain (Chaplain) on 8 December 1916 - sent to England for duty on 23 March 1917 - later served as an Honorary Major with the Canadian Chaplain Services in Canada.

Buried in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa, Ontario.
