Joined the 207th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, as a bugler on 29 April 1916 (number 246183) - taken on the strength of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 18 April 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 5 or 6 June 1918 - killed in action on 1 September 1918 - buried in Wancourt British Cemetery (grave VIII.D.5), France.
