Warrant Officer Class II Archibald McLaughlin Colville, MM

Born on 19 March 1889 - husband of Mrs. Archibald M. Colville, Brockville, Ontario - at time of enlistment in 1915: trade as mechanic, married, no current military service, previously served three years with 41st Regiment and one year with the Argyll & Bute Art. [?], Scotland, Presbyterian, height of 5 feet 6.5 inches, chest of 33 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, light blue eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the 59th Battalion, CEF, in Brockville, Ontario, on 31 May 1915 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 22 June 1915 (number 410708) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 22 September 1918.

Awarded the Military Medal - no citation - unit recommendation dated 31 August 1917: "He performed splendid work in rescuing a number of men who had been buried in their dugout."
