Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, in Brockville, Ontario, on 25 January 1916 (number 639272) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 24 May 1917 - wounded on 25 August 1917 - died of those wounds on 29 August 1917 - buried in Etaples Military Cemetery (grave XXV.O.17), France.
