Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on 17 March 1915 (number 411080) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in France on 17 July 1915 - wounded on 3 June 1916 - rejoined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 11 November 1917 - promoted to Lieutenant.
He was awarded the Military Medal.
