Lance-Corporal George Ashton

Born on 24 September 1892 in Liverpool, England - lists next of kin as employer, T.B. Anderson, RR #5 Pembroke, Ontario - attestation form notes present address as RR #5 Pembroke, Ontario, trade as farmer, widower, not now nor previously a member of the military, height of 5 feet 4 inches, chest of 35 inches, weight of 127 pounds, fair complexion, brown eyes, fair hair, Presbyterian.

Joined the 130th Canadian Infantry Battalion on 18 March 1916 (number 788911) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion in France on 14 or 15 November 1916 - wounded on 1 September 1918 - invalided to England on 7 September 1918.

Possibly died in 1936 and buried in Wesley Cemetery, Pembroke, Ontario.
