Joined the 80th Battalion, CEF, in Belleville, Ontario, on 29 November 1915 (number 220254) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 2 or 3 October 1918 - transferred to the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 7 November 1918.
