Joined the 38th Battalion on 9 or 22 February 1915 (number 410023) - served with the battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the battalion on 13 August 1916 - struck off the strength of the battalion on 16 June 1919 - joined [???] in Ottawa, Ontario, on 23 June 1919 (no new serial number).
Was Mentioned-in-Despatches on 27 December 1918 (London Gazette #31089) - no citation - unit recommendation dated 21 September 1918: "For continuous good work in charge of a Company kitchen".
