Private Norman Whetton

Born on 5 May 1897[?] in Liester, England - son of Mrs. Thirsa Whetton, Owen Sound, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as mother; trade as labourer; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 6.5 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 147th Battalion, CEF, on 1 January 1916 (number 838454) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 June 1917 - struck off strength to England as a minor on 14 October 1917 - later served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps.
