Private Alfred Henry Wheeler

Born on 6 February 1871 in Stoude, Gloucestershire, England - husband of Nora Wheeler, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: trade as oar builder; married; currently a member of the 43rd Duke of Cornwall's Own Rifles (sixteen years); no previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 5 inches; chest of 38.5 inches fully expanded; medium complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 207th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 29 February 1916 (number 246020) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 September 1917 - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, CEF, on 28 November 1917 - transferred to the Canadian Labour Pool, CEF, on 29 March 1918 - transferred to the 7th Canadian Army Employment Company, CEF, on 18 October 1918.
