Private Charles William Spring

Born on 13 August 1900 (gave 9 August 1897 on enlistment form) in Biggleswoode, England - son of Harry Spring, Biggleswoode, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Port Hope, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 2 inches; chest of 33.5 inches fully expanded; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; black hair.

Joined the 136th Battalion, CEF, in Port Hope, Ontario, on 15 December 1915 (number 805144) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 11 or 12 July 1917 - struck off strength to England as a "minor" on 21 September 1917.
