Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 27 November 1917 (number 4020030) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 26 or 27 September 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 3 May 1919.
